Aren't they just Jo, especially when they involve out of hours

Even with insurance there's obviously still the excess to pay (Billy's leapt up to £90) which must make it very difficult for some people, plus at the vets that we use you have to pay the bill in full and then make a claim (and then our vets charge £10 for filling in a section of information on the claim form).

I thought I was going to have to find that £3000 before I could bring him home! Luckily Tesco intervened on my behalf and told me not to pay any more to the vets, they're now liaising with each other.

He's not through it yet though.....time will tell but there may be a decision to be made....

Oh Gal I really hope he can pull through. Glad the vets intervened when it gets that expensive they surely can’t expect you to just cough up

How is Charlie cat today Gal?

I've only ever had small pets, eg, hamsters so I've never needed the use of a vet.

But I do know over here vets are treated like God! And....there is no such thing as a poor vet. All the ones we know have mansions to die for and kids at private schools.

Vibes for your puddy tat. xx

I've heard that vets make more money than doctors, and that it is harder to get into veterinary college than medical school! Not sure if it's true, but wouldn't be surprised :?

Boss lady's cat (Robbie...after Robert Plant. She has 4 cats and they're all named after rock stars! 8-) ) was ill a couple of months ago.

Robbie is the biggest fattest cat ever...is now going blind, is diabetic(?) and is about 12 years old.

Anyway...said Robbie was treated at a 'specialist' vets hospital in Marbella. After numerous tests and scans and tablet prescriptions the bill was 4000€.

Sounds like my bill Ally!!

So - they took the catheter out earlier than planned and the 'cultures' they'd had tested came back with an infection. I sort of thought this already but they put him on ABs and when they phoned last night he had weed a bit.

Update this morning is that he can come home! Excellent news - but I'm hoping it doesn't get too much worse re snow as I daren't drive in it so means going after Tom gets home and that's only if he thinks it's ok to drive in - he didn't think so when I spoke to him this morning. Will have to see when he gets home, maybe they'll keep Charlie another night if needs be?

I bloomin HATE snow!!!
