Pepper UPDATE

More issues :( Nothing too worrying this time, but she's had some fatty lumps in her tummy/groin area for a while. The vet said last time that they were benign, but to keep an eye on them. Well Becky was grooming Peps the other day and noticed one has grown, all of a sudden. She booked P in for an appointment (her job has its uses ;) ) and the vet did a needle aspirate to check that it hadn't turned nasty! Luckily it is still benign, but as it's in such a tricky area he's going to operate next week and remove them all. The one that's grown is going up inside her and has the potential to interfere with her bladder, so it's best to do it now!

£500 - £600 has been quoted, even with B's staff discount. Peps is insured, but after her problems earlier this year the insurance premiums have doubled (from £40 to £80 per month for them both) so we've decided not to claim in case they go up even more next year :? Becky has offered to go halves, so it's not quite as bad.......

Oh dear Kaz, but potential problems leave you no choice.
Minnie has a couple, they come with age I guess, but thankfully haven't particularly grown and not anywhere causing problems.

Sounds wise to get it sorted sooner rather than later Kaz. xx

Definitely no choice Di. I'm glad that Minnie's aren't causing her any problems xx

Thanks Ally, we think so too xx

No op today after all :( Her liver enzymes are very high, so they want to do an ultrasound and more tests first! :( So she's coming home at teatime, when B finishes her shift, then hopefully back there tomorrow. Bit worried :(

Sounds like they're being careful, Kaz, so she is in good hands.

Well so far the results are good, the final one is due tomorrow, so fingers crossed! Assuming the op can go ahead, we've decided to put it back until after we get back from Crete. The lumps are benign and slow growing, so no mad rush, and it would be unfair to leave Becky to deal with any post-op problems by herself.
