Good news about pet insurance

The whole insurance thing for Millie has been dragging on and on and on and on and is still not sorted.

When the vet first put the claim form in he put it in as one claim but then as the problems with Millie's throat became more apparent he changed it to two claims which meant it had to go to the underwriter. I was told by the insurance company that this would take around 12 weeks - this was back in February!!!!

After lots of phone calls from me and the vet I at last got confirmation from them today that they would be classing it as 2 claims (although I am not going to celebrate until I get the cheque in my hand).

That means that we are able to claim up to £4000 for the leg injury (so far the claim has come to £1200 so we have £2800 left for the future, providing of course we stay with the same insurer) and up to £4000 for the throat (so far this has come to about £2000).

Just got to wait for the cheque to come through now which should only take a week or so (or so they say).

Thank goodness for that Debih. It did always seem right didn't it, after all no-one can say for sure that the two were connected.
Such a relief to know if Millie does need any more treatment there will be funds left.

Fab news Debih.... :) Drinks on you at the meet then :D

But dare I ask, and not wanting to put a dampner on anything, but do you have lifetime cover for Millie or is it annual? Because if it's annual then both conditions most likely will be excluded from any further payouts once the policy is renewed :( Just something to bear in mind when it comes to renewal....

It's lifetime Meri.

We have cover that will pay out up to £4000 for each separate claim for her lifetime. We opted for the middle one - there was either cover for up to £1,000, £4,000 or £7,000.
