She has terrible diorhea (sp).
It started yesterday and I've been up 3 times in the night to let her out. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do really.
Normally I would starve her for 24 hours and then give her a very light diet of chicken and rice but I'm reluctant to do that as it goes against us trying to get her to put weight on!!!
I stopped feeding her at about 5pm last night although she had pretty much had all of her two tins of food and just gave her some natural yoghurt. This morning she is having a scrambled egg - which I am handfeeding her bit by bit as I type; 20 mins so far for half an egg. I will nip and get some live yoghurt whilst I am out.
Fortunately I am going into town this morning so will call into the vets to see what they suggest. As we now know that the insurance company have split the two claims we have extra money to play around with so I was intending on putting her back on the ID for a while anyway and charging it to the insurance - that will probably help to settle her stomach.
I don't know what has caused it as although we have changed her food that was about a month ago. Maybe there is a dog bug going round?
I have noticed that each time she goes out now she "performs" less and less so hopefully it is working its way through her - although it could have more to do with that she has eaten nothing since 5pm.
