thank you all; I haven't been on VV or FB all that much these past few days so only just seen this. It still is quite wrong to glance into the bedroom and not see her lying in her bed (which was on my bed) and I still think I need to take food through to her.
My poor old girl; she slowly but surely began deteriorating with her back legs / hips / spine and she regularly wobbled and fell over. Monday last week she had a really bad evening and I knew then that the time had come to let her go with dignity. She'd also wee'd in her bed a few times and I'm not sure if it was because she was in such a deep sleep or just not able to get up in time. But she wasn't aware of it and I just knew that was wrong. So with a very heavy heart I made the appointment for Thursday. And it was so so hard as Wednesday night and Thursday morning she probably was doing better than she had in long time and I really was wondering if I was doing the right thing.
But I will be brutally honest; it's a huge relief to not have to check the bathroom for a mess on the floor every time I walk in there, or turn around in my bed and smell cat food (towards the end I had a bowl for her against the wall, tucked into the corner so she could eat in peace) nor waking up 3 or 4 times a night because she'd either walk over my face, meow really loudly because she had dementia, she demanded attention at 3am and just wouldn't settle again until about 6 when I needed to get up etc.
I will miss her little face so much but I am sure she's happy cuddling up with her sister Chloe up on the bridge.
x

I found this photo a while back... this is Chloe (left) and Molly (right) about a year after I got them. They would always sleep cuddled up together like this.
