we've had the final cheque from the vets.

It arrived this morning and I've paid it into my account, ready to pay the vet next week.

This one was for £556. I can't remember the exact amounts that we have had but the first cheque was for just over £1800 (which came very quickly), the second cheque (the one that took ages to come) was for just over £2200 and then this cheque, which was also sent very quickly.

There will be a shortfall but until I pay them the £556 I'm not exactly sure how much it is. I think it will be around the £200 mark (which is made up of £75 excess, £30 for the bowl, £20 for the calming collar, plus a percentage of the special food she was on).

So, the little mongrel that cost us £120 as a puppy has actually ended up being rather expensive!

Ah but she's worth it and just imagine how expensive she would've been had she not been insured

She wouldn't be here if she wasn't insured.

100% agree Kaz and I would never not insure a pet if at all possible. When my cat Jamie was knocked by a car many years ago; if it wasn't for pet insurance I wouldn't have had the money to sort her out. She had a ruptured diaphragm and all in all the total bill came to about £2500  of which I thankfully only had to pay £100. And even better the bulk of it was with my main vet (the other with the emergency) and my vet dealt directly with the insurance company and at the same time got me my money back that I had paid out to the emergency vets

Well I didn't insure my cats and learnt the hard way. Mia is now insured and I am so relieved
