Not sure what to do about Mia cat

Postby miasmum » 22 Apr 2014, 10:13

when Luke is in hospital.

Do I put her in the cattery? The problem with that is I would have to book her in from Saturday 21st June, even though we dont go until Monday as they are not open Sunday, until Tuesday 1st of July, but if they get all Luke's seizures captured in the first few days we would be allowed home, but I will still have to pay for Mia's whole stay

Or do I ask Debbie the pet sitting lady to come in and feed her and the guinea pigs? This would be fine if we were going to get home early, but I hate the thought of leaving Mia on her own for all that time?

Not sure which way to play it?

I always used to just get my dad to come in and feed the cats, he went twice a day and they'd come flying from either the garden or through the catflap to meet him as he drove in :D
Of course he was quite mad and would stay and talk to them for a while, he even took our postcard to read to them
(And he didn't even like cats).

Shell, how social is Mia; does she spend a lot of time asking for attention and interacting with you or does she spend more time just sleeping and lolling about?

If the latter then I'd definitely get Debbie to come in and do the feeding and cleaning etc. Mia will be happier at home and I'm sure Debbie won't mind spending a few minutes extra just fussing her and brushing her.

But if Mia is a very clingy cat that needs lots of human interaction then the cattery will be the better option

LOL at your dad Di - a big softie deep down obviously ;)

Problem solved as the cattery is full anyway.

So Debbie it is :D
