My friend's labrador

Such sad news. :(

A good friend of mine has had to make the heartbreaking decision today to have her beautiful labrador Bailey put to sleep on Friday. :( :(

Bailey was poorly a few months ago and was operated on where a cancerous tumour was found.
They removed it..but the damage had already been done. :(

Sophie and her family were determined that their beloved family pet would have the best time possible in the little time she had left.

They made a 'bucket list' for Bailey - lots of photos of the dog being allowed to have extra treats and extra cuddles.

The vet told them today she is now a very, very poorly dog. :( :(

I was with Sophie when, 12 years ago, her boyfriend (now her husband) surprised her by having this tiny puppy for her when she got home from work.
She was absolutely over the moon.

I feel really sad for Sophie.

Oh Ally your poor friends
12 years is such a big chunk of your life, it's horrible.
Nothing anyone can say or do will make her/them feel any better, you just have to go through it - and have some very understanding friends (((x)))

Bailey is their much loved friend and family member and it is heart breaking. I am glad they did the Bailey bucket list and I am sure in time those memories will be of huge comfort.

So sorry for everyone xxx

Thank you.

I had a huge lump in my throat when Sophie said Bailey was her baby before she had her own babies (she has twin daughters aged 7) and they are all so terribly upset. :( :(

When I was pregnant mum and I went shopping for cots. In the middle of Mothercare, my mum was shocked when I said "do you really think I will love this baby as much as Rowlfy, because personally I don't think I will" Rowlfy was my cocker spaniel

I can understand that Shell, I think it is because they are so loving and dependant on us, just like babies and toddlers but they stay at that stage for their whole lives, unlike children xxxxx

That is so sad :(

I can understand that too Shell xx

Did any of you see the pics on Facebook of the very old and poorly dog being treated to an ice cream on his last day? It broke my heart, but boy did he enjoy his ice cream!
