Well, we managed to battle through the snow to get her to the vets this morning and the vet only had her in to operate on so we are hoping to hear within the hour.
He was a little concerned that she had been sick over the weekend (very sick after medicine yesterday morning and then regurgitated twice in the morning but fine the rest of the day) and also her temperature is back up again. I'm not sure how relevent this is - it seems that the temperature can rise with any inflammation. I find it worrying that it was fine on Friday before they sent her home but is back up again today. The vet didn't really comment on it too much.
Dan (the vet) hasn't really been able to say much before the op - just that he should be able to tell if the esophogos has shrunk back at all whilst he does this dilation. The ulcers were clearing up so he is hoping that they have pretty much gone now as he is able to dilate it more if there are no ulcers.
I don't think there really is an answer to this one. They might cure it, they might not. If they do cure it, it might happen again in the future, it might not.
These last 10 days in hospital have really bumped the bill up - it stands at £3200 now (we have a max of £4000 from the insurance).
So am just waiting to hear to see how it has all gone.
(And the same applies to my dad - he is having his cornea transplant done today).
