continuing on from the food thread for Candy; another thing to try - if they'll eat it that is - is 100% raw food for your cats. http://honeysrealcatfood.com/ is one of the supplies who provide the raw food with the necessary vitamins and minerals added to the food.

I tried it with mine and they didn't really like it, but then I also think I did the swap over too quicky and didn't do the slow gradual introduction of new food. But just a thought as this would be nearly 100% protein

I had a look at a few forums where cat owners recommend this way of feeding cats. I dont really want to try it with Candy because I think making the transition, even very slowly, would be a bit much for her. I'm worrying that her insulin levels will go out of control too quickly if she isn't keen on it and not eating enough of it. A lot of cats get an upset tummy with it to begin with and, as she is also on a painkiller that can cause a dodgy tummy, I dont want to risk it.
However, the more I read about feeding cat,s the more I would tend towards considering this along with the higher protein foods. :)
