Was it on here there was a discussion about steam mops?

At last I am getting cushion flooring in the bathroom and kitchen. Both are quite big spaces. We already have laminate flooring in the dining room. Carpets everywhere else.

I was wondering if it's worth getting a steam mop.

Are they any good?

I love mine Debih and would 100% recommend getting one. Esp for me that has 6 cats traipsing in and out of the house. The carpets in the lounge and bedroom are being replaced in June or July which will then mean all of my flat except the passage will be hard flooring and it'll make cleaning so much easier.

And not overly expensive so maybe get the same one and see how you get on and if you really like it get a more fancy one (although quite what the more fancy ones do more I don't know)

But as said; I definitely recommend them. Compared to washing the floors with a bucket and a mop this is a breeze

I have the Shark 2-in-1 and love it. I can whip over the kitchen, utility and ground floor (mixture of tile and hardwood) in ten minutes and by the time I get to the end the place where I started is dry. There's an attachment called a slider which surface cleans carpets and rugs. Not a substitute for a proper carpet shampooer but it freshens up the top of the pile.

Love mine but use distilled water in it
So it won't get limescale I it the water that goes in an irion

Thanks. I'm definitely getting one when the floors get done. Just need to decide which.

I like the idea of being able to clean bathroom tiles and the cooker with it too.

Can you wash the cleaning pads on yours Ria?

I use it on my tiles but I don't use it on the laminate as it isn't sealed so would lift at the joins

I use mine on the laminate floor in the hall and front room and it's fine I wash the pad in the washer put it in mesh bag
My kitchen bathroom are lino k stuff put down when it was refurbished and all ok

Debih; yes - I put the pads into the wash with the other stuff. it probably should be washed without softner added to the wash but I don't worry about that. Karl and Nadine have got the same steam mop as me - they've had theirs for ages and they said it was Ok to wash with the normal wash.

The one I've got also has that carpet attachment Paddypix refers to but I haven't used it yet (actually put it somewhere out the way and cannot remember where )

It says to wash the pads separately and so far I've done that but it seems a waste to run the machine for only three pads so in future I'll just stick them in with the normal wash.
