He's finally moving out of his teeny tiny studio flat, into something slightly bigger - but you still don't get much for your money round there!

I'm relieved though, his current place is sooooo small!

Thanks Ton, I hope so :)

At least we can help out with furniture a bit - our new sofas come next week and we're giving him the smaller of our two old ones 8-)

That's nice Kaz. It's so hard for our kids. My C is just managing with the help to buy scheme, with his girlfriend. A, is having to move in to our upstairs rooms until he and his fiance can afford to rent or buy.

Thanks both :) It is really hard isn't it Loz, so much harder than it was for our generation to get started :? Chris has a good job, no family to support but despite a little financial help from me when Mum and Dad left me some money he still can't afford to buy :? He's 37 this year and I'm not sure he'll ever get on the property ladder, not where he lives!

Julia is in Windsor, so it's just as bad there. They've managed, with a legacy from her father and what was left from her first house in Slough, to buy a maisonette. It's a converted attic and top floor really, and not big enough, now Oliver is getting to be a big boy ;) But they have a little big of garden for him to play in.

They were lucky to get it at the price they did - just under 250,000

Windsor is even more expensive than Staines, as is Egham where we used to live

I looked on Rightmove this afternoon, as a house down my ex's road was for sale when we drove past last weekend - OMG!!!

This is an identical house to where Harry is with his dad except theirs isn't in good order (Martin is a lazy so and so when it comes to DIY) and this one has a bathroom moved upstairs and Martin's is still 3 bed. They've gone up £100k in the last 7/8 years, as I know what Martin paid for it

I looked at houses down the road where Mick and I lived before we moved back over here, similar story - almost £100k more than we sold for in 2009  :?
