Apart from Outlook I use the browser for most things on the PC.

I use the browser on here on mobile and a few forums and for my news portal.

For X I use the app.

I guess it is what you are used to.

Suff we are all different, thankfully.

On my phone I will not use banking apps, finance apps. insurance apps, NHS apps, nor any apps that want my personal details. Those are my choices.

However I do use AIMP for music. It's Russian so must be bad...right?

Yeah if we were all the same we could easily be cloned...

I use banking apps because it makes my life easier and now I have business accounts which require the phone app in order to log in, the primary location of the account is a phone app and the account can only be set up with a phone.

It's called progress although the PayPal business banking app which refused to allow me to upload my passport because it could not take a selfie it could match to the passport biometrics was infuriating. Everyone else manages but PayPal suck.

Within a couple of decades you won't even be able to get into the banking on a browser. Sucks big time.

If it ever came to that I would have two phones. One with the apps on that got left at home and the other for taking out for phone calls. messages, a camera, a music player and not much else.

I hate the bloody things. Bring back semaphore.

Ah yes, Mrs S can Semaphore but a bit hard to do to the Internet....

I have 3 phones, one is ostensibly a backup. But the apps are quite particular they want to belong to ONE phone only and whinge when you register another device.

I use Kaspersky AV on my phones. Yes, Russian so bad also. Except they set up in Switzerland recently because of the hassle.

So far I have not had any big issues. My mother was in hospital and her email password was hacked off the hospital wifi. I haven't had similar issues.

Me and Mrs S could be related... and we can Semaphore on Zoom on t'Internet.

I have an emergency phone on USB in the car. Always on and on bluetooth - hands free.

My AV on all devices is Avira (paid for). Works for me.

Well you could if she would do Zoom. She won't even switch the camera on with Whatsapp.

We find the solutions that work for us I guess. Mine are different mainly due to the recommendations of my son and also the fact that I buy my keys on Ebay. I got a pleasant surprise when I added two 2 year 10 device subscription to my account with Kaspersky. I used the first one but didn't use the second for over a year due to other subscriptions still running. When I came to use it the subscription still had 2 years. It doesn't trigger until you add the first device.

Yes I have a LOT of devices, 3 phones, Mrs S' phones, her laptop, my two laptops and a bunch of physical and virtual machines.
