I got rid of Kies because it was so slow and never worked properly. It was a curse and now I just trust to luck that I don't lose all my contacts.

That's interesting.

I enable Bluetooth on my Galaxy Note2, check the box to make it visible for 5 minutes then use my laptop to pair it. Of course I had to unpair it and remove it before it would be seen in the list.

The only pita I had was that you have to confirm the code with Windows and then press OK on the phone. If you don't press OK on the phone, then it fails.
