I have a webcam so I can skype with family and friends.

I plugged it in the other day and it really slowed my computer down. Couldn't find the server etc when looking at different pages.

is this normal? Never used to happen - but then I was on a phone line, now on wifi.

It sounds more like a computer issue (DNS) than a camera problem, but unplug the camera and see if things change - WiFi should make little difference.

I leave it out now WM, thanks.

Next time I'm in Ourique, I'll pop into the computer shop and ask them. They know my computer now.

It sounds like it had an issue loading the driver.

Usual method is to delete the driver and re-load it by plugging in the cam again.

If you are not comfortable with it, the computer shop is best.

I agree with the slowing down issue, probably, but why would the driver throw up "Couldn't find the server etc when looking at different pages."issue?

Depends on what it's supposed to be doing. But it certainly should not be throwing that. It's like something is trying to use the camera and is not finding the website....

Very weird.
