Adobe flash

My husband read in ComputerActiv that this wasn't good to have any more and should preferably be disabled. I did this, but then wasn't able to see any videos on QVC or on other sites. I have re-installed it. Hope I haven't made a bad move.

Rodo, Adobe Flash is dying, but don't drop it just yet.

Sites - YouTube, Sky News - are gradually moving over to the HTML5 player, but some big sites, the BBC for example, are still using Flash, and many small ones might take ages to move over.

Leaving Flash installed won't hurt, but it will make it available for sites still using it. Also keep your browser, whatever it is, up to date by going to About XYZ and making sure you have the latest version.
