Hi Lissie,

Can you just clarify.

Has he lost wireless connection to the router
Has he lost connection to your machine whilst on his
Do you have a wireless transmitter on your machine? I have one but I've rarely ever seen anyone else with one.

I'm assuming that you have a wireless router and that each computer connects to it.

As you can see from this picture, computers connect to the wireless network independently. Then they talk to each other over the network they have established.

Once we can work out which part is broken I'm sure we can help fix it.

I have fixed it now as there was no one to help.
After fiddling about for ages i decided to use REFRESH as
OH`s laptop is Windows 8.
It worked and the internet connection came back.
It lost a lot of his data but it will keep him busy today
reinstalling it all :D :D
All in all i was quite pleased with myself :D :D

Hi Lissie,

Well done. Refresh is a useful tool from Microsoft, but it's a real hassle with having to reinstall stuff. At least you have backups of the data.

I was at a ball over the weekend. I spent the morning looking for my wallet I lost and the afternoon driving us back to France from Germany.

Glad it's sorted though... I hope it wasn't some Windows8 driver update which broke it as it will try that again.
