Yes, it was supposed to end last year, but those nice people at Microsoft left a back door open for us ditherers, that door closes tomorrow, 31 Dec 2017

To get the update go here and get the W10 media creation tool. When you run it you have two choices: Ugrade the PC directly over the Internet or Create an ISO file from which you can burn installation disks to use later. It only works on W7, W8 or 8.1, those on Vista have lucked out.

I haven done my Lenovo W8.1 netbook/tablet and my W7 laptop without any problems.

I'll need to get a 32/64 usb key made again and see if it works tomorrow.

I would like to keep the capability, if it's possible, for a few years yet.

Have done it on both my desk top and laptop. Did it while we were watching some TV.
