No restore points

When I plugged in my iPod just now the new version of iTunes looks totally different and I hate it. I can't find the left hand panel which allows me to switch between music/books etc. I wanted to do a system restore to take me back to before the new iTunes was installed, but there are no restore points, despite the fact that System Protection is On. Help!

It may come down to the amount of space you have allocated to system restore. If Itunes is too bid and the setting is too small then it will not create a point.
I have it turned off most of the time so I don't really get many issues as it's never there in the first place and I don't expect it.
You can uninstall the new one and install the older one. Not sure what that will do to your settings though. I dislike all things Apple so iTunes is not something I really have to deal with...

Thanks Suff. I've increased the space allowed for restore points now. It was set very low when I went in for a look, though I haven't changed anything and there were always several restore points when I needed them in the past.
I'll have to see where I can get an older version of iTunes before I uninstall this latest one.
