Think I'm on the right board

Postby kathy22 » 02 Jul 2013, 12:26

But am transferring Hard drive recordings onto DVD discs and am wondering what the difference is between DVD-R and DVD+R I know what RW is for but not too sure of the - and +

Many thanks

Kathy so long as whatever you're playing the discs on can accept either it doesn't matter which you use.
I think DVD-R is just an older format (it started earlier, but is still used as well). So some older CD players for instance can't read the DVD+R format.

Di has it. :)

-R is the older format +R offers more options when recording - they are both write once. As for playback it is not an issue now unless you own one of the original DVD players.
