Talkback on Nexus 10

I activated Talkback on my Nexus 10 only to find that it is for blind people and it requires a single tap on an app then a double tap to activate the app. It speaks in a robotic voice and I can't get it to turn off again. I have found a tutorial online which says to go to Settings>Apps>Running>Talkback>Settings. Touch Settings and disable. But when I get to the Talkback Settings it's doesn't respond. This is driving me mad. Has anyone any idea what I can do?

Ignore that. I also found that I couldn't scroll when in this mode so couldn't access accessibility. Eventually I found an online answer which said you have to scroll down using two fingers. That worked and I was able to turn TalkBack off but how on earth is anyone supposed to work that out?

You're ot, you are supposed to let some geek who has nothing better to do work it out for you.

That is what I tend to do.

You have, however hit on an important point. More than a year after buying my phone I am still ignoring the helpful hints to automatically do things for me. Why? Because it is guaranteed that it will not be what you want to do that one vital time, you will have no Internet and no quick way to turn it off.

I find the inconvenience small in comparison.
