What Are We Reading In August?

I’ve just started The People On Platform 5 by Clare Pooley.
Struggled to put it down and go to sleep last night.

Where’s my head?? I was sure it was August today and thought it odd Ally hadn’t started a post

Seeing as we're jumping the gun...... I'm about halfway through The Lady of the Loch, by Elena Collins. A bit of a ghost story set in a Scottish castle in the current day and in the early years of the 14th century, during the reign of Robert the Bruce.

And here's me so busy I forgot all about it.

I've not looked at my kindle since the flight over but I've got Shalini Boland's One Of Us Is Lying lined up.
No doubt I'll start it on the flight home.

I'm reading "The World According to Bob" by James Bowen.
This is one of the series of autobiographical books about a Big Issue seller in London and his adopted street cat.

It's not the easiest of reads, to be honest, but very interesting nevertheless.

I’m reading The House of Special Purpose by John Boyne. It goes back and forth between Tsarist Russia and 1970/80s London.

I’ve just started How To Fall In Love by Cecelia Ahern. I usually enjoy her books so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into this.

I really liked The People On Platform 5, bit disappointing at the end though as it seemed to be tying up loose ends while my Kindle said I still had 22 minutes left to read, I was thinking there was more to come but it turned out that the 22 minutes were made up of lengthy acknowledgements and a preview of the writer’s next book

I’ve just started At the Table by Claire Powell, one of my book subscription books. I’ve held on to two of them to bring away with me, although there is a decent library on the ship. Only on page 22 but it is shaping up nicely. 

Jo, I like Cecelia Ahern’s books. She lives not too far from here. Early on it was said that she was only successful because of who her father is (former politician and Taoiseach) but she has proven them all wrong.

Ossie, I missed this post somehow, until now. They also made a film about Bob and James. Unfortunately Bob died a year or so back, and James is struggling with his mental health I have followed his page on Facebook for years.
