Twitchiker sounds like the kind of book I'd enjoy.

I've only ever read one Lynwood Barclay and I can't remember which one it was now but I loved it! I should read more.

Just finished 2 x John Grisham paperbacks - "The Litigators" (2011), which turned out to be one of his "heartwarming, comic" ones like "Skipping Christmas", and "The Associate" (2009), which was altogether a more gritty legalistic drama and (IMHO) the better read - although the ending was a bit of a let-down as it was a shade inconclusive.

I'm reading Back Story by David Mitchell, the comedian. It starts well with his usual dry humour, but it has deteriorated into a luvvie fest. I've just got to the last couple chapters where he falls in love with Victoria Coren. I've quite enjoyed it but it's not great.

I am reading J K Rowlings Casual Vacancy and am really enjoying it.

I stopped reading Twitchhiker - not because I wasn't enjoying it but because the other book arrived at the library.

Just finished a fairly ancient Jack Higgins which has been on my "to read" shelf for many years (!) "Drink with the Devil" (1999). A pretty typical generic thriller about a bullion hoist with the IRA in the background. Readable but unmemorable.

Prior to that "Three Weeks to Say Goodbye" by CJ Box (2009), an American author based in Wyoming whom I'd never heard of before. It's an absolute un-putdownable page-turner, I finished it about 3:00 in the morning. :D Mrs O read it first and passed it on to me, and I certainly recommend it. It's about a Denver couple who adopt a baby, but there's a hitch in the paperwork, and the biological grand-father, a well-respected judge, gets in touch and issues a demand for the baby back - hence the title and a race against time to uncover shady dealings and the real reason why .....
