Blimey Ally, this Lisa Jewell book is good!

Then She Was Gone.

I’ve had to stop reading and put my Kindle on to charge, can’t have it run out mid chapter :o

I read it a long time ago, can't really remember much about it now but I've never read a Lisa Jewell book that I haven't enjoyed!

I've started Three Things About Elsie by Joanna Cannon (I think?)

I've just downloaded another Lisa Jewell too, Watching You.

Dear Mrs Bird, by A J Pearce. A comic tale about a young woman living in wartime London, who takes a job as a newspaper agony aunt. I haven't started it yet, but the reviews are good 8-) :)

I've just finished two books from the "Chronicles of St. Mary's" series by Jodi Taylor. She's a West Country lass, Kaz, with roots in Gloucester!

They're about a group of mad-cap scientists who hurtle around Time, visiting various historical events like the Siege of Troy and the Great Fire of London for "research purposes". Very funny, very entertaining, and an excellent cast of eccentric heroes from the main character, Dr Madeleine Maxwell, Chief Operations Officer, to Mavis Enderby, Head of Wardrobe. I think she writes more contemporary light romance novels as well, using the name Isabella Barclay, who confusingly is one of the "villains" in the St. Mary's series. :D

Ossie, I've already read the first one of those, I think I posted about it a few months ago :) As you say, great fun and quirky characters :D
