I'm reading An Unfamiliar Murder by Jane Isaac.

It's the first in a series featuring DCI Helen Lavery.

I'm really enjoying it.

I started reading one in bed last night and read for far too long, Mother Dear by Nova Lee Maier.
I think it was one of those free monthly Kindle First Reads and it’s really drawn me in.

"How to Raise an Elephant" by Alexander McCall Smith, the latest in the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series. As always, it's a well-observed, very gentle, and perhaps over-wordy slice of Botswana life, but it's a good read nevertheless.
I do miss the TV series they made a few years back, that was excellent ...

I'm reading Susan Lewis' novel - You Said Forever. It's a sequel to another of her books but it can be read as a stand alone, enjoying it so far :)

I have a strong feeling I have read the prequel, but in actual library book form, so no record of it anywhere. Shame as I would love to know for certain.

SL is among my favourite writers 8-)

I'd flicked through my 'library'of waiting to be read novels when I spotted a recommendation.

It was for a book called The Rollover by James Raven for 99 cents.

Just before I clicked to buy I thought I'd have a look (in case it was in a sequence) and it turned out it was the first in 5 of a detective Jeff Temple series.

Next second up popped the box set of the 5 Jeff Temple's for the princely sum of 89 cents!!

Started it last night and it looks good.

These box sets books are the bargain of the century!

I’m on my third book this month. First was The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, really enjoyed it and was interested to see that she also wrote Firefly Lane which we are currently watching on Netflix. Then I read Snow by John Banville, beautifully written as ever but I did figure out most of the whodunnit about a third of the way through. Now I’ve just started The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes.
