Marital troubles

Postby cromwell » 23 Sep 2023, 20:31

For some time now I have suspected that my wife is playing away.
All the usual signs are there; she hides her phone from me, she turns her back on me in bed and constantly snaps at me.
Then last night I finally got proof.

I was in the garage, working on my classic car, a Ford Cortina Mk 2 1600e.
She had go out "to the bingo".
At 12 midnight I was about to finish on the car when I heard a taxi draw up.
I turned out the garage light and crouched down behind my Ford.
My wife got out of the taxi and came down the drive, adjusting her blouse. Then... she took her knickers out of her purse and put them back on.
At that point I noticed that my rear exhaust bracket was cracked.

I'm heartbroken and I know I need to make a decision. Can I weld it, or do I need a new part?

Cortina 1600e Mk 2 parts are like gold dust - I owned one. :)

I would do a TIG weld on the brackets and have good look at the lugs and rubber rings on the exhaust...

Not sure about the kickers. Silk would be my preference, in or out of a purse. Purple?
