From what I have seen and read, she was badly edited - no doubt to make the show more interesting and to garner more publicity!

I feel quite sad that she felt her integrity has been questioned, all through bad editing - she said they all helped each other as they have in past series, there's no way she'd have done anything intentionally. I may be naive but I believed her, I don't think it's becoming cut throat at all, it's not that kind of show.
