I've just started to watch it but am only halfway through the first episode. I like it so far. It's adapted from a William Boyd book which is also a good read.

Restless: We thought the plot was a bit confusing, to be honest - we sort of got the general drift. It was beautifully acted though, and as Fugi has pointed out, the "fashions" were brilliant.

Wasn't it? I knew all about Hitch's obsession (I have a keen interest in his work and did a bit of background reading when I learned this was to be televised) for blondes, in fact I wonder if Grace Kelly was subjected to his advances as well....I believe she was lined up to play Melanie Daniels but couldn't/wouldn't take the part. I don't normally like watching Sienna Miller but she was excellent.

Very disturbing indeed with that subdued obssession and cruelty and, like you Gal, I was impressed with Sienna Miller's portrayal of Melanie Griffith's mother Tippi Hedron. You will be looking forward to seeing Anthony Hopkins playing Hitchcock in the new film 'Hitchcock' released in February based on how he made 'Physcho'

Melanie Daniels was Tippi's character in The Birds - which I recorded as it was on ITV4 later that same evening Interesting that she made the film Marnie, her second and last Hitchcock film, shortly after The Birds. He had her under contract and would not release her from it for a further 8 years, subsequently damaging her career in films.

We have watched part 2 and I can honestly say that that was the best thing I have watched on TV for a very long time. I thought it was just superb in every aspect. The casting was excellent too. The young Eva spoke exactly as the daughter did and held her head in the same way. That was very very special. It left you questioning and watching every detail right to the very end.
