No I'm still watching, but no one seemed to be bothered

I loved Jay's foxtrot and it was such a shame he stumbled. He certainly deserved more than a 6 from Craig. He could be in danger tonight, but depends who he is up against if so. I think Jamelia just dances latin as if she is dancing at a local disco. She seems to just do her own stuff.

I wouldn't be sorry to see Katie go, her simpering is driving me mad.

And I found last nights programme annoying simply for the word BLACKPOOL. Be glad when they've been and come back to be honest

Osc this is where you, as a dancer, and I, as a non-dancer, don't agree. I wondered about Kellie's samba but to me the dances all get confused - all I know is a samba is fast paced and a waltz is not...the difference between them for me, for dances like a foxtrot and a waltz for example, is minimal because I am not familiar with the steps needed to 'make' that particular dance. I'd say the majority of the SCD viewing public will not be too concerned about what dance is what, so long as they replicate it as the professional dancer says, and we see.

I enjoyed it, as I do every week. I think Jeremy was pleased to be dancing to one of his favourites (anyone who tunes into his Radio2 show will know what he likes) and his enjoyment of dancing to it shone out. I don't think that Kellie's choice of music was great, nor did I think their dance reflected the song well. Maybe this will cost her this evening.

The Tower Ballroom in Blackpool is the absolute Mecca for ballroom dancers, like Wembley for football or St Andrews for golfers. It is world famous, any dancer worth their salt would want to dance on that floor at least once, even social dancers like us. Our friend and dance teacher, himself a former competitor, says the atmosphere and ambience just makes the hairs stand on the back of his neck every single time he goes there. Each time we go there, I feel exactly the same.

Gal, I completely get what you mean, and realise that the vast majority of viewers just like to watch and be entertained. I'm only a social dancer, we have never competed, but I know what I like to see. I don't know who chooses the music on SCD, but it is not the professional dancers, I do know that, and more and more the music is just wrong. There is no way that a samba should have been done to that piece of music, except maybe for a showdance or a novelty fun dance, but not as a dance in a supposed dance competition. How about if the bakers in GBBO were asked to make a Victoria sponge, and someone put, say, minced chicken, through it and decorated it with vegetables - the basis would be a Victoria sponge but there would be little in it that would be a proper one. Jamelia was criticised for her hands not being right, Kellie's were even less right because of the music and the hip hop slant of the dance but nobody mentioned it.

I really have no idea who will win, to be honest, it is still pretty open I think. For me, nobody has emerged as a front runner, initially I think Peter was being touted as the winner, but he hasn't progressed much beyond his excellent beginning. Jay could do it, I'm not mad about Helen or Kellie, Georgia could do it - I think it could be any of them. I do try and not get too technical when posting, but I know what I like so that's what I say, it is always my own opinion and I have no professional expertise at all.

We're still watching it .... I'm usually back from my footie in time for a 6:30 start. This year, it's been such a strong cast that I think there's been very few talking points. It ought to be Jamelia and Jeremy in the dance offs tonight with Jeremy going - if it's Jamelia and anyone else, then she's vulnerable as it seems the voting audience obviously haven't taken to her.

As to who is ultimately going to win it, no idea (yet)! (But I wonder if it's going to be Anita)

Yes, this does seem very strange at times, and it must be a huge test of the professionals' choreographic skills. We're no experts, but quite often the music seems totally out of kilter for the named dance, and that hip-hop routine was a case in point. We thought that what they eventually performed was just a showdance, and we wondered if the thinking was "that celeb'll never cope with a proper samba, so let's give her a chance and set her up to do a showdance".

We do like to watch what we would call the "classic interpretations" and I do think the paso doble in particular has suffered from having "wrong music" in recent years ..... when it's been a "proper" doble, it's been superb - there's one male professional in particular (is it Pasha?) who "owns" this dance! It's a little bit the same with the charleston; yes, the wackier interpretations to strange music do come off (thinking Denise Van Outen's "Walk Like an Egyptian"), but you can't beat a classic charleston, and Georgia's "Chicago" performance yesterday was just sublime ....

Jay's quick step to My Generation was a classic case of wrong music and I think that's why it went so wrong.

I agree Jeremy loved dancing to Going Underground, I wasn't quite so keen on one of my favourite songs being slaughtered but I'll live

I get throughly bored with the samba, the salsa and the cha cha they all seem the same to me. But then as Gal said I have no idea of what constitutes a good one. The American smooth and the foxtrot seem the same as well

Everybody seems to do a good Charleston, but it is great fun to watch.

Love the Paso too and yes Pasha is very good

I am certainly enjoying this year's Strictly.

As someone who, in my younger days, had proper training in Ballroom and Latin Dancing, I do
often have cause to criticise some of the dancing, but, as has been said here, the vast majority
of TV viewers will not be knowledgeable in that regard. It is darned good entertainment though.
I can see why Judge Len gets a bit uptight sometimes. I agree also that very often the choice of
music is quite inappropriate, and I'm surprised that the professionals do not complain - I would!

I wouldn't like to guess who is going to win this year.

We're always complaining about the music choices. E in particular feels they should use appropriate music for each dance, it really bugs him..........not that he reeeeeally watches of course

I think it's still quite open as to who will win. My personal favourites are Jay and Anita.

Very glad that my lovely Tristan gets to dance with his celeb partner in Blackpool Right person went home once again last night, but I do feel that Jamelia will be out next week, the only other contender would be Katie but she will be fine doing an American Smooth. I loved her dress on Saturday night, so elegant and classy.
