It's based on a John le Carré novel from the early '90s, but brought up to date with events now happening in the Arab Spring in Egypt.

Typical of le Carré's style there are lots of twists and turns.

Based on the first episode - unmissable! Hugh Lawrie is a superb "villain", Tom Hiddlestone could well be the next James Bond, whilst Olvia Coleman is ... well, Olivia Coleman with a funny accent and a disreputable woolly ...... :?

Not quite such a good episode 2, too many flash-backs and confused time lines, IMO. Or is that just me?

It all came together by the end of the hour, but it was a bit of a trial getting there .....

We watched both episodes back to back yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, it is a bit like a James Bond copy, but nevertheless very enjoyable.

We watched the first one on iplayer over the weekend and will watch the second on the player too. We were gripped, even B enjoyed it and it isn't usually her kind of thing - although I reckon the good looking hero hooked her in a little there ;)

Really looking forward to the rest of the series - and doesn't Hugh Laurie play a good villain, he was really creepy! :D
