The ABC Murders

The three-parter on BBC1, did anyone see it? We're big fans of the David Suchet Poirots, so weren't at all sure if we'd enjoy this version, but we really did!

It was very dark indeed, and totally different, but so well done! John Malkovitch was very good, but for me the real star was the actor who played Mr Custe, the supposed murderer - he was superb. A barely recognisable Rupert Grint aka Ron Weasley played the Police Inspector 8-)

Too dark for us, Kaz; having read the reviews, we both decided we didn't want to watch it.

Coincidentally, a two-hour production of The ABC Murders with David Suchet as Poirot was shown on ITV3 on the same day that the BBC version commenced - we watched the Suchet!

I love your review and take on this Kaz...it was panned by alot of TV 'critics'.

I'd never let a review affect whether I watched something or not....of course, I'd be aware of opinions, but would always watch and make my own mind up.

Even if it meant switching off after 'X' amount of time.

(I'd just like to say I saw the trailers for this and didn't recognise Mr Malcovich.) Good 'acting'! :Hi: :Hi:

We watched the new one on iPlayer Ossie, so watched both, and enjoyed them both on their own merits :D We were very unsure at first, but it grew on us as a real slow-burner - and had a fantastic twist right at the end, that made my jaw drop and tears form

It was the best thing on TV this Christmas IMO Ally, with Call The Midwife coming a close second ;) :) xx
