GBBO

Postby Workingman » 01 Oct 2019, 21:23

Am I the only one to think that this year's series is a bit flat and that the judging has been inconsistent and wrong at times? The other week two got sent home while two who had been last or second last in two of the three challenges stayed in, and they had only been in the middle in the one challenge they did not fail.

This is also the first time I have been unable to 'like' any particular one over the others. I know that Steph has been Star Baker three times in a row, but she, like everyone else, seems to have a self-destruct button either with flavours or the look of their creations.

I think the standard of skill is quite low this time around, plus they try too hard a lot of the time.

We've not bothered since it changed over to Channel 4.

You should both give it another go. Noel and Sandi are way better than Sue and Mel - once you get used to Noel's looks, and Pru is much less 'mumsy' than Mary B.

Noel and Sandi are one of the reasons I don't want to watch it, I always liked Mel and Sue.

I have seen a few episodes and I did like Noel but he has 'dumbed down' a lot to how he usually is!

As a presenting quartet, they're fine but I don't know, for me it just doesn't have as much appeal as the Beeb did...

So disappointed. I go back to my OP because one of those who should have left ages ago has just one.

I hate to say this, but I believe the winner was chosen weeks ago despite them not being the best overall baker.

I know that it is what is done on the final day that counts, but getting there has to be on merit. I am not sure this series did that.
