Did anyone watch this? I won't lie I struggled through it and wanted to slap Amanda Holden with her fake annoying laugh, but the amazing end was worth waiting for.

I love Alan Carr but hell would freeze over before I'd watch anything with Amanda Holden in it.

Glad you enjoyed the end result Shell. :D

It would freeze over twice hereabouts. Can't stand Holden or Carr (either Alan or Jimmy).

Fifthed.

Can't stand either of them. Watched it last week, with Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Rednapp, but find it all a bit staged.

Its typical ITV if I am honest and yes very staged. I liked the Jamie Rednapp/ Freddie Flintoff one and I do like Alan Carr. Cant stand Jimmy Carr, another truly annoying laugh.

Amanda is a celebrity ambassador for Battersea and she goes regularly to help out. It turned out her relative that we met in the first few minutes and worked at Heligan in Cornwall moved to London as a draper. At the end they took her to Battersea and she was showing Alan the photos of her with the Queen. Then they revealed her relative originally from Cornwall was one of the original Chief executives of Battersea, head of the Legacy Department. He invested heavily, left them a large inheritance and there is a photo of him at Battersea meeting the King. She was truly amazed, and mercifully speechless.
