Last night there was a show on the BBC about Morecmabe and Wise. It showcased their best sketches; was introduced by Penelope Keith and was absolutely uproarious. I can't remember when I laughed so much. Tonight there has been another program about the work of David Croft, who co-wrote Dads Army, 'Allo 'Allo. Hi de Hi, It ain't half hot mum, You rang, M'lord, and many more. Again, many laughs.
Where did all the comedians go? I could watch Live at the Apollo for six months without cracking a smile. 99% of "comedy" now is the most insipid dross. What happened?

Humour was simpler and gentler in the old days.
Political correctness has taken a toll - there is so much that you cannot lampoon these days, and the current crop of comedians' need to be "cutting-edge" hasn't helped either .....

We watch a lot of the old comedies too and love them.....................although we do enjoy some of the newer stuff as well, it
is totally different, I agree

We watched that too - and certainly laughed out lour several times.
Grumpy watches the Appollo stuff and some of it is quite good, some of it dire.
But John Bishop was on too and although he was showcasing other comedians too, he is very funny - in a kind of observant kind of way, if you follow me. As is Michael McIntyre.

Yes we watched Michael McIntyre the other night and were roaring with laughter - he is physically very funny I think, like some of the old comedians were
We also find Live At The Apollo very hit and miss

I like Michael McIntyre, but I wish he would stand still and stop shouting. Really like John Bishop
I also enjoyed Not Going Out on Christmas Eve
and Mrs Brown's Boys
