Loved the original of this, so gave the new series a whirl. Seemed not to bad to start with, but then just got sillier and sillier. Tried to watch this weeks, but gave up after 10 mins. Such a shame, wish they'd left it alone really

Really loved the original series, and have enjoyed seeing them repeated recently on that new Drama channel

This new one started really well, but this week's did lose the plot a bit I'm going to keep trying with it, as perhaps it will improve. I am finding the laughter track offputting!

Yes, we got fed up during the second programme. Some things are best left in the past.

Yes, I agree that it is not a good thing to try to resurrect series that were a success in the past.

A classic example was the recent showing of Still Open All Hours, which I thought was poor.
You can't put on a show like that without the principle character who made the show, Ronnie Barker.

Here's another who thinks that Golden Oldies should be left in the past.

The problem appears to be that modern creative talent is not that creative. There are a few gems, such as Last Tango in Halifax, but most of it is copies of hit shows from other channels. One does Cleaning Ladies, the next does Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, then we get Compulsive Hoarders, Compulsive Dirty Sods..... X-Factor, Britain's Got, Strictly, Dancing on Ice, Splash!, Voice.

Perhaps we are more sophisticated in our viewing now than we were a few years ago.

Well obviously we all have different opinions on things like this, but somehow it tends to be rather old fashioned in its humour.
