I've seen a trailer for episode 2 (the one I'll be watching today) and can see that Celia looks a bit of a meany.

I have recorded the last two episodes of this but I missed half of the last series - I got bored!
I think Mick might be away tonight and as there is nothing else on tv I might give last weeks episode a go!

She's certainly not thinking about her daughter, and clearly has behaved similarly in the past. I did feel sorry for Caroline.

She's always been a nasty wotsit, and one of those that some people would think you're mad if you said so, since she doesn't show that side to everyone.

But everything Celia thinks, does and says is fairly typical of many of her generation. It might not be PC in today's terms, but it is largely because of her attitude that the whole programme works.

Tonight (blame me social life ) but I've just got round to watching a week last Sunday's and the Sunday just gone episodes of this.
I am gobsmacked that not a whiff of this did I see or hear either on tinterweb or online.
I am shocked.
Suffice to say I have been quietly sobbing whilst huddled round my laptop.
ETA and what a fantastic actress Sarah Lancashire is.
