The Big Allotment Challenge

Is anybody watching this? I am sort of hooked even though I hate gardening. My ideal garden would be all AstroTurf and plastic flowers, but I digress. :D

I think the reason I am enjoying it is because dad had a veg patch from which we got multi sized onions, two legged carrots and green celery.   The stuff was nothing like the perfection expected of show vegetables.

Tonight is sorted.

I love this programme but don't know why!

It's not proper allotmenting - how can they visit their plots on a regular basis when they live at the other side of the country! And that Thane woman drives me mad - it's the way she puts the food in her mouth!

I love the flower man, I love the show veg and I love the cookery part (apart from Thane) but I still shout at the tv!

She annoys me too, because a lot of it is her personal preference and we can't taste the products.

It is different with the flower and veg men as we can see where their praise or criticism is based.

LOL, I know the feeling! I ran the back garden of our first house in Somerset as an allotment. Certain things worked; others didn't. My biggest "triumph" were the 5 foot high leeks .....
