I thought it was fabulous - generally very well cast (not convinced about Demelza, but will give it time) and beautifully shot 8-) :D :D

I was worried that it would be hugely disappointing as I was a massive fan of the original, but I wasn't 8-) :D

Leaving aside the brutality   I was not that impressed. There was lots of galloping along cliff top paths and lingering looks at derelict mines perched precariously on sea lashed cliffs, but not much atmosphere.

I could not get over the lack of chemistry between Elizabeth and Poldark (or Russ or Ross, depending upon who was calling his name) and Demelza is far too beautiful for a father beaten waif and stray.

I will stick with it, but.......

Yes I know what you mean about the lack of chemistry. I thought that too. I don't know the story though as I didn't watch the first lot. Does the chemistry show itself later?

:P @ Frank :P

Well, mostly it's had rave reviews, so I'm not the only one who enjoyed it ;) :D

I am not keen on Demelza up to now. Have to say I did have a massive girl crush on the original so perhaps that'll change as time wears on...

Know what you mean about the long shots WM, but hey, 'Ross' is plenty of 'eyeful' for me to watch atm ;) Drool....

I watched the original series but can't really remember much of the general story....

I can't comment on the Cornish scenery, the acting, the story or the characters.

But Aidan Turner.

Phworh.

"Phworh", "Drool" and "Swoon" are no way to assess the worthiness of a serious TV series.

But I do have to say that Demelza is "fit".

I think it's aperfect way to assess the worthiness of a tv series.

Who cares about the story when the eye candy is so good.
