Oh my goodness, what a lovely hour we spent watching this programme this evening. We've always loved Dad's Army as a very British comedy and this dramatised version of how it came to be was just delightful. The casting was great too - if you missed it, get it on player.

BBC 2 has been showing re-runs right from the beginning and it still holds up today. It is gently funny with its mix of slapstick and very clever dialogue.

I have a complete set of DVDs of Dads Army, and I never get tired of seeing it.
I missed this new version though.
