No pressure then.

Hi Kaz,

Your IP is 79.178.43.15 and the problem is intermittent. It can happen at any time of the day or night and on any day of the week. There is no pattern to the events and no set times. Sometimes it just slow, at others it takes forever.

I am running W7 Premium and used the following browsers: IE9 x64, Opera 12.15 x64, Dragon (Chrome clone) 26.2.2.0 x86 and PaleMoon (Firefox clone) 20.0.1 x64. The problem ocurrs on all. I have used different DNS servers, the default TalkTalk ones and various OpenDNS servers for which I use DNSbench from http://www.grc.com to check out the fastest/most stable.

Here are some ping and tracert results:

C:\Users\Frank>ping -n 25 -l 500 gripsky.co.uk

Ping is always stable and there are no obvious signs of problems. Tracert always shows problems with the main one being at #12 where the resolver always fails. I have reset my firewall and IP stack using netsh to no avail. I have tried the router using both DNS options - Default or Use the following - and nslookup always points to the correct DNS server. Site cookies make no difference whether I accept them, clear them, or ban them altogether.

I have, sort of, given up.
