VV hanging/freezing.

Postby Workingman » 08 Mar 2013, 13:40

Hi Kaz,

This problem I thought was page transitions (I reported earlier) but it stll happens. I have tried different browsers - clean, no add-ons or plug ins, run diagnostics on my net connection, tried a different router, and run things without any firewall, AV or anti-malware of any sort. I have done all the cookie and history clearing stuff and tried different DNS servers.

It goes like this: I might be on the index and want to visit Cafe, so I click and it just sits there with the connection indicator spinning round and round. The same sometimes happens between pages in threads, going from say 2 to 3, or between threads on boards. The status bar tells me it is Waiting for gripsky.co.uk. If I click the back button and then re-click where I wanted to go the connection is instant.

I can work with it but is is a bit frustrating when it happens.

I get the same with VV, intermittantly - but I also get it a fair bit on the DM website as well.

I get it quite often with VV. Sometimes it takes a while for the page to load and sometimes it goes to the "IE cannot display . . . . ." screen but usually it's OK.
