I've just been out shopping and picking up purchases paid for during the week with Mrs S. Just checked the work mail and have 4 spam messages, nothing else. Unheard of. I left at 3pm UK time and I normally get mail on Friday right up to 6pm.

They must all be in the pubs drinking themselves senseless....

Suff, thanks for that - I quickly dug out the manual after you'd posted yesterday but didn't have chance to post back, the ones we have are just smoke detectors. No more false alarms and the green light is showing on all to indicate that they're working. I hadn't seen John before he left for work yesterday morning but when he called at lunch time he was convinced it'd been a car alarm going off - I had to get Joe on the phone to convince him otherwise
