Michael's 30th last night.

Postby Workingman » 17 Sep 2016, 15:17

They booked a family table for the twelve of us at a Thai 'street food' restaurant and after picking our own starters we had a Thai "open banquet".

It is a bit like an Indonesian rijsttafel with loads of different dishes served on carousels so that you can pick and mix. My favourites were the gaeng pa - jungle curry, satay gai - chicken skewers, pad pre wan - sweet and sour and gratium prik Thai - garlic and coriander stir fry. The dishes came with tureens of different types of rice and too many dips to mention.

If you ever get a chance to try this don't miss out.

That sounds good Frank!
We all like Thai food and there's an excellent restaurant in Lichfield.

The place we went prides itself on being a 'street food' cafe, probably because the lads who own it were vendors back home. Everything is cooked super quick with lots of amazing aromas floating through from the kitchen, the very noisy kitchen.

We love Thai food :D
The Thai we had at that music festival was much like that, they have a restaurant but this was street-food style :)

I am a bit addicted to street food. I try it wherever I go, and I have been to loads of places. Not once have I ever had Deli-Belly, but I have had some great, and slightly strange, meals. :D Fried locusts anyone?
