V is very scared. I haven't heard about A. She hasn't said. Communication is still very sketchy.
The navy's (us, Canada, Australia) ships have arrived there with supplies and are getting the tourists out.

Fortunately, our navy was celebrating 75 years this weekend so there's ships from all over arrived in Auckland. Japan and Singapore will also bE helping. Unfortunately it was the first US ship here in 30years, I was looking forward to seeing it, but it bypassed auckland where it was supposed to come (and rightly so) and continued south.

I'm surprised at the level of damage in Wellington. One high rise building has to come down, buckled roads, and now flash flooding. Parts of Wellington has had 1 months of rain in one day.
Everything happens for a reason
