The foods you miss

What is it about the USA? I had that at the pentagon. Got talking to a guard trying to work out how to get from there to the football game I was going to later and asking how early did I need to get there.
When he found out I had the ticket in me, he insisted on escorting me to the train station, full uniform, machine gun (or whatever it was) and all. Wouldn't take no for an answer and waited on the platform till I got on the train, with strict instructions not to talk to anybody, lol. Apparently those tickets are valuable and people wait there whole life for a chance and never get it, and I had a corporate box ticket in my bag. Things you learn aye?

How strange Weka!

The first time we took Tom to the US he was 1. We'd been able to take his buggy right up to the gate and then a member of the crew stored it away in one of their cupboards. When we landed we waited until the plane was almost empty and they'd finished seeing everyone off before asking someone to get it for us, so basically we were at the back of the queue from a full 747 plus other aircraft to get through immigration.
We stood there for no more than 2 minutes before an officer came along and asked us to follow him.
We looked at each other with "Oh heck" written all over our faces and were led past the long long queue.
When we got to the front, he led us to an immigration desk, called a staff member over who opened it, checked our passports and sent us on our way after both he and the officer wished us a pleasant stay.
