Glad Don's eye is healing well Lissie x

Got an appointment for this afternoon  I've translated the results as best I can - medical terms don't normally come up  - and it's not as bad as he feared, thank goodness, but looks like fluid on the lungs

Will have a pit-stop at the bar on the way back ;)  Well, we do need to keep hydrated in this heat 8-) 8-)

Good morning all, it's a bit fresher here so far. Still hot but there's a breeze today. I collected some trays of bedding plants for the borders from my Mom and Dad's last night so I've planted them out and cut the lawns too. They grow their own and had a tray of dark blue Lobelia and a tray of purple Petunias that they didn't need. They look lovely together in the border against the garden wall.

Tom's off to work shortly and Joe's got an appointment with the nurse at 12. He was complaining of a blocked ear yesterday but this morning both are blocked. I was quite impressed (and surprised) as I rang the surgery at around 10, got straight through and was told that a nurse would call me back. She did about a minute later, said he could be seen at the surgery around the corner at 12 and a text confirmation came through as I ended the call. I've got to go with him as he's never been on his own before and is unsure of how to check in, I'll leave him to it though then. I'd feel a bit daft going in with him now he's 17

Now to get good service from the hospital! He saw a consultant about his blood condition at the beginning of April. She said he needed surgery, which she thought would be done within 4 months, and referred him to a surgeon. She sent us a copy of all correspondence and the referral letter to the surgeon was dated the day after we'd seen her. Anyway, 11 weeks on there's been nothing from the surgeon. I rang the consultant's secretary yesterday but she was in a meeting so I was given an email address for her. I emailed her to see when we can expect to hear something and as of yet I've heard nothing back, not even a reply saying she'll look into it.

Lissie, my Mom was the same - she was amazed at what she could see after the first one was done and couldn't wait to get the other done. She held off with getting new glasses too.

Cruiser, I love music but can't bear the thought of festivals, I don't do camping. V happens near to us so I could stay home overnight but the music is a bit too Radio1/Capital for my liking

Have a good day all!

Good morning all - hope Grumpy's test results, are OK, Jan.

Too hot to do anything too active here today; wandered up to the local one-stop shop for a paper earlier on, and that's my exercise done for the day. :D

Accident reported on the A303 locally which will be exacerbated by Glastonbury traffic. :|

Woody back on the bird bath this morning for some liquid refreshment, and according to the local Facebook page, a flight of four red kites has been seen crossing the town - the second such sighting recently. Hmmm, I didn't know we had any in this area. They're prevalent in the Chilterns, and have moved north up the motorway corridors, but very unusual for them to be seen this far south, I'd have thought. The RSPB website tends to bear that out. I know there are some big birds of prey readily spottable up on Cranborne Chase, but I've always assumed these to be kestrels or buzzards, which are very common round here. I must look more closely .....

Afternoon :)
Very scorchio!

We were out early for the hospital so Bb could finish off some work on the way.
Had quite a long wait but did get to see the actual consultant so I didn't mind so much.
Saw lots of ponies and babies, and stopped for lunch in Brockenhurst on the way back - with air conditioning :D

Will update on health at some point but not now, am knackered!

Good luck to Grumpy
