He's died, aged 89. Sad news.

Got great memories of watching him present The Generation Game on a Saturday night when I was a little one.

Never a huge fan, always thought him and Bob Monkhouse a little smutty and innuendo ish for my taste.

But a great entertainer and will be missed.

I've never watched Strictly either Saundra so haven't seen him in recent years, my memories of him are really from the 70s and early 80s.

We weren't really into shows like Saturday Night at the London Palladium or The Generation Game; he was never a presenter that really rang any bells with me, but we did like him in Strictly Come Dancing, corny as his jokes sometimes were. And what a fantastic "hoofer". :D

A complete TV legend, and a superb all-round entertainer, it must be said.

One must admit that he was a great, gifted entertainer for so many years.

Didn't he do well.
