We found it very strange that of all the night's of the week a surprising number of those in Olhao were closed on Saturday :?

It does seem odd doesn't it!? Especially when you think that here you often need to book if you want to eat out on a Saturday.

The storm has far from passed Kaz :D
We have had bright sunshine, amazing gales, torrential downpours, alternately for hours :D
5 minutes ago the rain was bouncing off the paving, at the moment it's back to sunshine - just glad I'm not having to go out in it :D
Bb of course is working :)

Morning all :D

One minute sunshine, the next rain, very changeable and windy here.

Running very late as usual, had to wash my hair, a bit like doing a marathon these days. Totally cream crackered so in between doing the washing etc will be sitting as much as possible.

Have a good day :D

Very rarely do we book a restaurant here Jo. A lot of them are huge and the Portuguese either spends hours over their food or they're out in about half an hour   Never seen such fast eaters

In most of the Algarve, bars and restaurants would shut one day a week. We knew the Capri was always shut on Thursdays, the Ponte Grand on Mondays. Fish restaurants, of course, always shut on Mondays.

I've done my domestic goddessy bit and the ironing.

We're getting some sunshine but a lot of very black clouds. Roll on next week - wall to wall sunshine 8-) 8-)

What weird weather--just been down to Sainsburys in bright sunshine then 10 minutes later have had
to shelter in their doorway as the rain was bucketing down and i would have got drowned going to the car.
Took Don for his flu jab. The surgery is really organised this year. We went in-gave his name-doctor called out
"anyone for a flu jab" Done and dusted and back home within 15 minutes :D :D :D
I am now waiting for the rain to stop again to go to Morrisons and finish the shopping.

Our surgery do flu jab clinics throughout September and October, always on Saturday mornings and they have three nurses on duty just to do those. It works really well.

Jan, the only food places I can think of that close around here are Chinese takeaways, around here they're always closed on Tuesdays (and sod's law, if you fancy a takeaway you can guarantee it'll be a Tuesday  )

Looks like the storm's just about to hit us here.

Good afternoon all.
We've had a busy morning - shopping. Managed to miss the rain storms.
It's extremely windy here now.
Having a restful afternoon, then looking forward to Strictly tonight.
Keep dancing!

Brian still here!
Latest surge in the gale brought a garden chair to the back door and my acer in its big heavy pot blown over
Thankfully plant and pot seem undamaged.

Was about to say it's sunny again but now it's chucking it down!
