We've been busy all morning, I walked Billy first thing before it got too hot for him (poor lad's double coated and really can't stand the heat) and then helped John with removing some doors and carrying them outside. They needed a bit taking off the bottom as the new threshold strips he fitted when doing the wooden floor were higher than the previous ones; fire doors are flippin' heavy things
I've also been to town to get an '18' candle for Joe's birthday cake.Looks like the common is on fire, right behind the houses opposite us
When I was in town an off road fire engine and a water tanker went speeding past and when I got back there was smoke. They've had a hose connected to a water supply on the close and have run it through the back gate of a house across the road. I'm dreading going around there later and seeing what a mess has been made, sadly there's a lot of wildlife with burrows there too. No doubt that yet again it's kids from the dodgy estate thinking it's fun to light fires
