Good afternoon all, a lovely day out there. We've just got back from having the flu jabs at the surgery, all very civilised compared to Birmingham where you'd have to queue outside and round the block, usually in the rain, with passersby wondering what on earth was going on. Here we rolled up 10 minutes early, were seen straight away, and home for a cuppa tea. Ossie on good form:
Nurse: "I'm just going to take your pulse"
Ossie: "Not dead yet, then?"
Have also completed and posted the Delay Repay forms to SouthWestern Railway after last Saturday's fiasco. I have them banged up to rights on the return leg, 66 minutes late back at Gillingham, but the outwards journey is slightly more problematic as I abandoned ship at Wimbledon to complete my journey by bus. However, there is an informative website "realtime trains" (worth tucking away in the memory, this one) for circumstances like this. With a few simple clicks, you can bring up both the scheduled and actual times of your train's running. This has shown me that if I'd stayed on board my morning train as far as Clapham Junction, I'd have been at least 37 minutes late at that point, so I've duly made the argument in my claim.
We shall see what we shall see …..
Safe travels, Kaz!
